Knowing your audience is critical to implementing any development plan or project. This portal provides insights into people by providing open access to survey data from across the world. It can help you to understand the motivations, thoughts and beliefs of your audience, to help you increase the impacts of your projects.
Our data, taken from face-to-face audience surveys, gives an understanding of: how people live and adapt to changes in climate, what health issues they face, the processes and decisions that affect how they live within societies and where they turn to for information. The data is organised into three main thematic areas:
- Resilience – collected from nine countries in Asia and Africa. This data shows how people feel they are affected and adapt to extreme weather, changes in water, food and energy availability and how they use media for information. We have data from eight Climate Asia surveys, a survey in Tanzania and three different timepoints in Bangladesh.
- Governance – collected through nationally-representative research with adults in eight countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. This data shows the key issues affecting people’s lives, how they perceive the power structures around them, their understanding of processes and how they make political decisions. Across most of these countries, we have data from different timepoints: baseline, midline and endline.
- Media – collected through nationally representative research with adults in countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, this data shows what forms of media people use and trust, how frequently they use TV, radio, internet and mobile and what TV or radio stations people turn to for information.
